It is very important that you include a copy of your child’s Speech and Language Report and the latest IEP Goals. We are not set up to do evaluations for this summer program and intend to work off the Speech and Language goals already developed by the referring Speech Therapist and IEP team.
Our Summer Speech Program is modeled on the non-intensive preschool program in the public schools, NIPP. There is a theme each week and specific sounds and language structures are targeted. Groups consist of three children.
Some children enrolled in SDC programs whose primary need is speech and language may benefit; however, children with Spectrum Disorders (Autism, Asperger’s, PPD-NOS) do not benefit from this structured program. They would be better served by attending a summer school program offered through the public school system.
Tina Crabtree, the teacher-therapist will contact you for a brief phone conference to confirm acceptance and determine schedule the first week in June.
